Achieve great hair with Panasonic’s 4-in-1 Ion Hairstyler

I was born with naturally straight hair but somehow the almost-everyday-hair-tying in the gym, hair colouring, and harsh hairstyling (blowdrying, curling, and ironing) make my hair dry, brittle, frizzy, and wavy. Even on days when I just want to let my hair down, the frizziness annoys the hell out of me, and I end up almost always ironing or blowdrying it causing more damage to my hair.

img_9837

I was so psyched when Primer Philippines sent me the new Panasonic 4-in-1 Ion Hairstyler. It comes with four hairstyling tools which are blow brush, roller brush, slim roller brush, and a nozzle. The blow brush is great for hair straightening, roller brush for big waves, slim roller brush for smaller, beachy waves, and nozzle for general blowdrying.

It’s easy to use and you can practically use it on either wet or dry hair! BEST.THING.EVER! This hairstyling tool won’t damage your hair because it emits ions which gives you smooth, shiny, damage-free and manageable hair. It’s lightweight, handy and definitely travel-friendly. You can now create a wide range of hairstyles in your own home. It’s super convenient to use, too; all you have to do is click and attach or click and detach the tools from the base.

img_9876

Panasonic’s 4-in-1 Ion Hairstyler comes in a standard box which includes four hairstyling tools and base. Its pink colour is so adorable and is perfect for us, girls and guys, too!  It has two heat/speed selection and comes with a 360 degrees swivel cord so it doesn’t tangle up during or after use.

I love how perfect it is for women on the go – shower, towel dry your hair, and achieve salon-styled hair using the Panasonic Ion Hairstyler in minutes. Unlike normal blowdrying, which takes so much time to dry up your hair, Panasonic Ion Hairstyler cuts the drying time in half. So even if you’re in a rush, you can still use this and get beautiful hair!

Have you tried the new Panasonic Ionic Hairstyler yet? 🙂

Jeunesse Anion’s Millenial Fair

I know how difficult it is for us girls whenever we have our periods. Imagine what we go through every month-uncomfortable, icky feeling, mood swings, crazy cravings and uncontrollable zits popping on our faces! Yup, it’s so hard being a girl. We want a sanitary pad that has quick absorption and can truly protect us from stains, bacteria and odour. Jeunesse Anion has all that plus an Anion chip!

So what’s an Anion chip?

Anions are negatively charged atom which are naturally generated by evaporating water. These are also found in natural places such as beaches. In layman’s term, anions are Vitamins of the Air. They are the reasons why we feel so energized when we go near these places. Cations, however, are the the opposite of anions. These are found in the decay of UV rays, exhaust, smoke and the like. Anions act as neutralizers to the harmful effects brought by cations.

Jeunesse Anion releases a lot of negative ions which makes that uneasy period feeling disappear. Aside from that, it also helps balance PH and hormone levels, protects against germs in the air, reduces inflammation, fights against vaginal irritations, eliminates unwanted odour, and lessens the discomfort of dysmenorrhea.

Last week, Jeunesse Anion invited me to attend their Millenial Fair held at Marriott Hotel hosted by the beautiful sportscaster, Jeanine Beatrice. There were three empowered women speakers- Dr. Faith Suelen (OBGYNE), Mille Romero (Health Coach) and Nicole Romero (Beauty Blogger at @beautyandsparkl), who talked about reproductive health, holistic health living and how to stay pretty. They also discussed the importance of maintaining a well-balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle.

img_8145

img_8094

Mille Romero, a health coach, shared some healthy recipes for women on the go.  I specifically love the fresh fruit smoothie recipe she shared which includes cranberry, mixed berries, banana, barley and greek yoghurt. The nutrient-packed smoothie helps boost one’s immune system and is really easy to make. Aside from the smoothie recipe, she also shared how to make a five-minute salad dressing and red pesto sauce.

Aside from the very informative talks, Jeunesse Anion introduced their newest endorsers – tennis superstar sisters, Christine and Clarice Patrimonio. Unfortunately, Clarice wasn’t able to make it so we were only able to chat with Christine.

img_8195

Jeunesse Anion products were showcased in the event including the Ultra Day Pad, Ultra Night Pad, Panty Liner, Ultra Day Non-Wing and All Night Pad. They also launched their all-day singles pad which is perfect from day to night and fits perfectly in your purse! I personally love Jeunesse Anion’s panty liner because it keeps me fresh everyday and I also love the all night pad because it 100% protects me from leaks even when I workout.

The event was catered by Marriott Hotel and it was also made possible by Jergens Philippines, Clara Ole, Dona Elena, Caronia, Sante Barley, and Old Vineyard.

Beauty Lab Whitening by Suaviss Experience

My recent beach trips and out of the country escapades made my skin dull, tired and uneven. My skin’s calling out for help; even with sunblock, my skin go dried up because of too much sun exposure. I was so excited when Beauty Lab Whitening by Suaviss invited me to try their signature Red Light Collagen Therapy for the face and body. It consists of a four-step treatment that promises to whiten, even out the skin tone, and enhance the elasticity of the skin.

img_7196-2

Last Monday, I had a very relaxing pamper session at Beauty Lab Whitening by Suaviss located at BGC Stopover. Upon entering, Glitter (what a cute name, right?), the front desk officer, greeted me with a warm smile and offered me something to drink. She also asked me to answer the customer’s questionnaire. The second page has a checklist of all your skin concerns and will be the basis of how long you’ll be inside the ray therapy machine.

Lab White treatment is one of the most effective programs in South Korea. The salon was well-lit and has a very inviting ambiance. It was really nice to chill at the receiving area complete with comfortable chairs. The salon has a minimal design and the all-white colour will make you feel relaxed already. There was also a shelf displaying their products in the area.

img_7191-2

The treatment room includes a small changing area, prepping area, exfoliation room and the Suaviss Lab White R630 Collagen Machine. Before the treatment, I was asked to remove all my clothes, change into a disposable underwear and put on my bathrobe. Ate Jovy, my therapist, also asked me to remove my makeup and my contact lenses, too. Beauty Lab Whitening is well- prepared! Makeup remover and contact lens solution and case were provided in the room.

img_7202

Suaviss Lab White R630 Collagen Machine

I was asked to go to the exfoliation area where the four-step treatment took place. The first step was exfoliation and removal of dead skin cells. My therapist used a non-irritating exfoliant made of sugar cane extracts which has a powder-like texture making the skin extra soft sans the rough, salt-like friction of ordinary exfoliants. It almost felt like a massage oil. She proceeded to apply and (semi-massage) it all over my body. I was interviewing her at the beginning of the session but I eventually dozed off because it was that relaxing! After 20 minutes of exfoliating my whole body, she asked me to sit on the bed. She washed off the exfoliant and asked me to dry myself with the towel provided. The second step was applying the preconditioning ointment which has a strong whitening effect and improves skin tone. She slathered the ointment on my body making sure that it was applied evenly. She then asked me to step inside the R630 machine for 15 minutes. Don’t let the red lights intimidate you as it is UV-free and non-invasive. The ray therapy helps the exfoliant and ointment penetrate the skin to give you the softest skin you’ll ever have. It was definitely the highlight of the treatment for me. It was very comfortable as if I was in a sauna; complete with mp3 and a chair inside. After relaxing inside the therapy machine, Ate Jovy asked me to step out and go to the prepping area where she applied the post-conditioning ointment which helped seal the nutrients from the treatment.

I noticed a big improvement on my skin right after one session. My skin tone got lighter and my skin definitely felt softer and suppler. The whole process took 1 1/2 hours and I just felt incredibly amazing after. I can’t wait for my next session!

Guide to Gown For Rent Philippines

Gown For Rent (based from their name) is a gown rental studio. They offer a wide variety of gowns for all types of occasions. They have gowns for as low as P300! Don’t worry about hygiene as they meticulously clean all the gowns before letting customers wear it. Their gowns are adjustable, too! There’s a gown for all sizes whether you’re petite or plus-sized.

I’ve been attending a lot of weddings lately and of course, I’ve bought gowns but it’s so expensive knowing that I’ll only be using it once or twice. Good thing there’s Gown For Rent. It’s practical and affordable. You can choose from different styles and you can now not worry about wearing the same gowns for all occasions and events that you’re going to attend to.

Last week, I was invited by Gabby of Gown For Rent to visit their store and do a photoshoot for them. They’re located at Suite 302, 77 Visayas Avenue, QC. Upon arriving at the 3rd floor, a cute white door decorated with flowers and a Hollywood-like red carpet greeted me. The studio was filled with numerous gowns in different cuts, colors and designs! I was allowed to choose three kinds of gowns and I had a hard time choosing because there were a lot! And I like all of them! I actually wanted to try a wedding gown but I was too busy looking at the printed section.

img_5943

img_5946

I ended up choosing these gowns:

A black mermaid-cut gown which is perfect for formal events. You can add a pair of diamond stud earrings or a simple necklace to spruce up your look.

img_5942

img_5951

A dazzling silver tube dress with a gorgeous train which can be used for proms and graduation balls. I added a pair of dangling earrings for a sophisticated vibe.

img_5950

A blue, floral off-shoulder dress (my favorite) which can be used for beach or garden weddings. I love this because it’s very comfortable and breathable. The design also gives a soothing and calming feeling. You can add a pair of tassel earrings for a boho chic vibe. You can also apply highlighter on your collarbones for a sexy finish.

img_5945

img_5861

If you’re looking for gorgeous and good quality gowns which you can rent, visit their studio at Suite 308, 77 Visayas Avenue, Quezon City. They’re open on Monday-Wednesday, Friday-Saturday from 9AM-6PM. You can also check their website at www.gownforrent.com.

Thoughts on I’m Onsen Spa

I got really tired from all the exploring, sightseeing and WALKING, yes, all caps because WALKING was an excruciating activity, from my recently concluded Eurotrip. My feet went to feet heaven! LOL. I’m a little bit exaggerating but it’s true! My feet pulled out the white flag on me! When I arrived in Manila, the first thing I searched for was a massage. I’ve been loyal to a well-known spa here in Manila but this time, I’ve decided to try a new spa place called I’m Onsen.

I’m Onsen Spa is a Japanese-inspired spa which offers different types of relaxing massages, facial services and onsens. Onsens or hot springs are popular in Japan because it is said to be rejuvenating and refreshing. It’s housed in a six-storey building! The lobby is where the reception area is. The second floor is where you’ll find a swimming pool over-looking the Makati cityscape. You’ll also find gender separated toilets and lockers here. Third to sixth floors cater to spa suites, relaxing lounge and wellness suites. The last floor houses their eat-all-you-can restaurant.

My boyfriend and I got their signature massage which comes with a free buffet. We upgraded our room to a spa suite. You can choose from a suite with a steam bath or a jacuzzi. We chose the latter. The suite doesn’t come with a budget-friendly price. We paid P6500 inclusive of the signature massage, spa suite with jacuzzi and free buffet. It’s pricey compared to The Spa where you can a couple’s massage in a executive couple’s room for P3500++. Our massage was scheduled at 530pm so we checked out the swimming pool area first. The pool stood out because of the colourful sun lounges hanging above it. There’s a bar where you can order some chows and drinks while waiting and an instagram-worthy wall just a few inches away from the pool. 5 minutes before our massage time, we proceeded to the 3rd floor where the spa suites are; not knowing that there’s no allotted private cabinet in the suite so we had to go down the second floor again to change into kimonos and place our things inside the gender separated lockers. We were told to wait for a little bit because they’re still fixing our room. They made us wait for 30 minutes. We kept following up and the receptionist on the suites area got irritated and she made an annoyed face. The reason we got for the delayed service was the service man from the engineering department was late and they couldn’t operate the jacuzzi without him! It took a series of follow-ups before they gave us our room.

We made our way through a maze-like hallway before we got to our suite. I was expecting for a really nice room since we paid P6500 but a normal and incomplete suite welcomed us. It has two massage beds, a sink, toiletries, towels and an operating jacuzzi which smelled like chlorine. A toilet and bath wasn’t provided in the suite, though, a communal toilet and bath can be found along the hallway. There was no buzzer inside the room so if you’re done bathing in the jacuzzi, you have to robe up and go all the way to the reception to notify them that you’re ready for your massage. We tried the jacuzzi for a little bit, waited for the masseuse and our massage began. The therapists were polite, friendly, hygienic enough, and professional. We dozed off after a few minutes into our massage session. The massage, IMHO, was great; the facilities, not so much.

After an awesome massage, we went to the top floor for our free dinner buffet. Their buffet was amazing! I imagined that it would be an ordinary buffet but it wasn’t. They offer a wide selection of food and get this, they have a pasta cooked inside a huge cheese wheel!  Their food was delicious and uberly satisfying. The ambiance was extremely inviting, too. Unfortunately, we didn’t get to taste everything because we were in a hurry.

So, is I’m Onsen worth the hype? Nah. While I really like their buffet and massage, I find it too expensive and I didn’t like the overall service that I got. I’ll stick to a home service massage which is P250-P450/hour or The Spa which has a superb service for a cheaper price.

Make Me Blush Sparty Review

My high school friends and I decided to give a surprise bridal shower to our girl who’s going to get married next week. We crossed off the typical bridal shower— rent a hotel room, hire a stripper, drink until our livers cry for help and decided to do a SPARTY (spa party). We chose a posh nail salon called Make Me Blush which is located in the heart of Quezon City. We got their spa party package which includes manicure, pedicure and foot spa for the eight of us. We had the entire nail salon to ourselves for five hours.

fullsizerender

Bright and warm

My friend and I arrived earlier than the others because we had to set-up the decorations. As soon as we pulled the door open, the receptionist greeted us with a warm smile and assisted us to the area meant for us. The nail salon has a very inviting ambiance. The top to ceiling glass windows added sunshine to already bright place. The salon is filled with dainty and girly decorations which we absolutely loved because we’re kikay (vain) girls like that. The pastel-colored chairs are also eye-catching. Not only that, they were also comfortable to sit in. The walls are coloured in pastel pink and seafoam green with huge mirrors to make the place look bigger. I really love that they used bird caged to house their lighting fixtures. I find it very unique and interesting.

fullsizerender-19

I’m totally digging the pastel colored chairs.

Pretty bird cages for the lights

The others together with the soon-to-be bride arrived just in time for the main event which was the pamper session. The nail technicians were super friendly and greeted each of us with a smile. I love that they work quickly yet efficient. We were all done in 1 1/2 hours. Just so you guys know, one of my pet peeves is super long time while doing my hands and feet. So I was really surprised that their technicians cleaned, scrubbed and polished our nails within a reasonable time. I also love that they offer different imported brands of nail polish. They have OPI, Orly, Chanel, Ruby Wing and Zoya.

Antonio’s Fine Dining

Gone are the days when Christmas parties mean Valkyrie and Revel. Nowadays, my college friends and I already count ourselves as “Titas of Manila”- meaning we now prefer tea time and quiet lunch or dinner over crowded bars with loud music. For this year’s Christmas get together, we decided to try out Antonio’s Fine Dining in Tagaytay.

We arrived at Antonio’s just in time for lunch. The place is exquisite with plants surrounding the place. It already looks dreamy during daytime so what more if night falls. Two lovely ladies will greet you upon entrance and assist you to your designated table. The dining area is dark and romantic with black and white as the color scheme. It somehow reminds me of an old Filipino house.

img_0271

Antonio’s has set meals which ranges from P1600 to P2000++. The main course comes with soup, salad, dessert and coffee/tea. We actually wanted to try the 750 grams steak but it’s P13,000 good for 3-4 persons. They also served baby lechon (roasted pork) which is priced at P16,000++.

thumb_img_0190_1024Friends for keeps

img_0272We ordered foie gras for our appetizer. I was surprised at how generous the serving was. FYI, foie gras is my favorite appetizer. It comes with several buttered bread and sweetened peach.

thumb_img_0161_1024Garden salad. You can actually choose other kinds of salad for an additional price. Antonio’s will serve you the freshest greens you’ll ever tasted.

thumb_img_0157_1024Squash soup! It’s a pour-over which means you will see a bread and a few greens on your soup bowl and the server will then pour the soup. I’m choosy when it comes to soup like I only eat several types of soup and I must the soup is super delicious! You can really taste the flavor!

thumb_img_0153_1024I ordered US pork ribs for my main course. I was surprised at how my knife went through the ribs without so much force. I don’t like that they mixed it with orange, though. The orange flavor was too intense for me. I asked for a peppercorn sauce to balance it out.

thumb_img_0150_1024This was the final stage of food coma – dessert! The options for that day were dark or white chocolate soufflè or a dessert sampler. Obviously, I chose the latter. It consisted of panna cotta, black sesame cheesecake, macaron and vanilla ice cream. As soon as I took my first bite, I felt like I was in sugar heaven! I love everything but dislike the black sesame cheesecake. The taste was too overwhelming. Maybe a simple blueberry cheesecake would be a better choice. Overall, the food is super worth the price. Although I didn’t really like my main course (just because of the orange flavor), the experience and the ambiance made up for it.

After eating, we decided to check out the garden area of Antonio’s which is called The Lanai Lounge. It is the perfect place where you can enjoy your champagne, chardonnay or red wine. The ambiance is perfect for catching up with your friends. Just make sure you don’t doze off in their cozy seating areas. thumb_img_0166_1024Don’t worry if you’re planning to bring your kids as this place has a lot of areas for them to run around. (See photo above) LOL.

Look at this stuff, isn’t it neat?

My mom always tell me to invest in real estate more than anything so back in 2009 (right after graduation), I invested in a studio unit at Eastwood City. Fast forward to 2016, that 36 square meter condo unit was turned over to me. I immediately asked my interior designer friend to design it and that’s where my love for interior design started. I was immediately fascinated with how you can mix and match a lot of stuff for the room to be alive, cosy and relaxing but sourcing things can be a tough job- think of going to different stores plus traffic.

Good thing, there’s Gorgeous Mess! It’s a one-stop shop that offers clothes, vanity products, and super nice home decorations. The site’s made for women who are always on the go. A little click, click and viola! You can opt to have the items shipped right at your doorstep or you can pick up the awesome stuff at their store in Rockwell. Shipping is 3-5 days if you live in Metro Manila and 5-7 days for provincial orders. Customer service is also fast and reliable. They reply to your concerns and inquiries instantly. Oh, their website is such an eye-catcher, too.

A little reminder, though, you need SELF-CONTROL when ordering from the Gorgeous Mess. My wallet always goes wailing because of all the pretty things I buy from this site. Pretty desk trays, book ends, adorable marble-designed items… Am I hallucinating? Not. It’s just my impulsive conscience talking to me. LOL. It’s now time for you guys to see my mini haul. 🙂

Don’t you just love my haul? Everything looks pretty, right? I bought these because 1. flatlay 2. I’m moving to a new house soon so I have a new room. Therefore, I need things to prettify it. It’s a perfect excuse to buy pretty, gold items. Haha. If you need these in your life (like I do), shop now at www.thegorgeousmess.com or visit their showroom at The Glasshouse, Rockwell Center, Makati City.

Eyes Of Horus New Bio Lash Lift Mascara

Last Thursday, Glamourbox invited  me to the launch of Eye Of Horus’s new Bio Lash Lift mascara. It was my first beauty event and I was pretty excited. The event has an Egyptian theme- complete with pyramids, Egyptian-ish sweets and treats and a Pharaoh! Yeah, there’s a gigantic yet cutie Pharaoh lounging around the event’s place which was held in the activity area of SM Makati. Kudos to the Glamourbox team for really pulling off the Egyptian vibe.

thumb_img_0640_1024thumb_img_0647_1024thumb_img_0648_1024Thank you EOH for the makeup giveaway.

Eye of Horus is an Australian makeup brand which offers different eye makeup – pencil eyeliners, liquid liners, brow pencils, eye palettes, and mascara. I super love their eyeliners. EOH offers pencil and liquid eyeliners, btw. It’s smudge proof, has an amazing color payoff and glides on smoothly. It’s long-lasting too! I can testify that it’s water proof because I washed my hands after the event (as in complete with soap) and the swatches were still on my hand. thumb_img_0639_1024thumb_img_0627_1024thumb_img_0642_1024

The star of the day! EOH’s Bio Lash Lift mascara. It’s 100% vegan mascara and has 98% organic formula which makes it totally safe for the eyes. I love how it lengthens your eyelashes safely and organically. It also comes with a double sided comb so it easily coats every lashes.thumb_img_0641_1024

Free Egyptian-inspired makeup sessions were also given courtesy of talented makeup artists, Sylvina Lopez and Katch Mejias. Here I am in Slo’s makeup chair! She used EOH Goddess Pencil in Teal Malachite and Isis Sun Goddess palette on my eyes. I love how the shade (teal) opened my eyes more.thumb_img_0629_1024thumb_img_0630_1024thumb_img_0631_1024thumb_img_0632_1024thumb_img_0635_1024

There was also a flatlay station and a mini studio where we took photos. Our photos (after the makeup session) were also taken by the talented Jory Rivera. thumb_img_0624_1024thumb_img_0625_1024
